After a break-in, we have installed an additional deadbolt and a blocker plate to provide more security.

For the blocker plate, if you have a gap between the door and the frame, we highly recommend having one, as it will offer much more security against forced entry through the gap and direct attacks on the latch. The images above are for inward-opening doors.
